It’s a place, and an idea.
A vibrant, modern campus filled with sunlight and the sounds of laughter. Where happy, fulfilled children are immersed in the here and now – the day-to-day of discovery, and just having a really great Thursday afternoon. It’s a kind, compassionate, nurturing place, where a child can be challenged, and still feel comfortable and safe. In bright, inspiring classrooms, labs, an amazing video production studio and on the playground of their dreams. Where every day is filled with new experiences, optimism and promise.
This is where small class size meets unique, forward-thinking ideas on collaboration. Where educators and staff work in teams focused on individualized learning, helping a child find their confidence, academically and emotionally. Here, everyone knows her name. His dreams. Their favorite book (and ice cream). And no parent ever has to choose between compassion and academic accomplishment.
Oh, and by the way, this place just happens to be the very first truly inclusive K-8 school in the nation. And that just might be the biggest idea of all.
Compassion. Inspiration.
Inclusion. Grace.

My husband and I are both educators. The conversation right now is dominated by achievement, test scores and grades. In a culture that struggles with diversity, the opportunity to raise a generation of children for whom all kinds of friends, of all abilities, classes and races are the NORM is not an opportunity to be passed by.
